The Institute of Special Communications and Information Protection of the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” (hereinafter – the Institute) was established by Order of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine № 658-p “On the establishment of the Institute of Special Communications and Information Protection of the National Technical University “Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” of December 27, 2006.

In accordance with the Joint Order of the State Service of Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine of March 20, 2007, № 31/217 “On measures to ensure the functioning of the Institute of Special Communications and Information Protection of the National Technical University of Ukraine “Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”, the Institute is a military educational unit of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute with the status of an educational institution of the State Service of Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine.

The Institute is subordinated to the Rector of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute in matters of educational activities and to the Administration of the State Service of Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine in matters of military service, logistics, financial and medical support.

The Institute trains personnel in the field of protecting state information resources within information and communication systems, cryptographic and technical information protection, ensuring the functioning and security of the State System of Governmental Communication and the National System of Confidential Communication, which constitute a specific area of state information security.

The Institute provides training for applicants at all levels of higher education –Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral degrees, as well as offers retraining and professional development for specialists in various fields of knowledge and specialties:
