Special Department № 3

Special Department № 3 is the degree-granting department of the Institute and provides training for specialists in the field of electronics and telecommunications under the specialty G5 Electronics, Electronic Communications, Instrument Engineering and Radio Engineering at the bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral (PhD) degree levels.

The department employs highly qualified professionals, including 3 Doctors of Science and 7 Doctors of Philosophy (PhD).

Bachelor’s Programme

Professionally-oriented educational components ensure basic knowledge in all aspects of designing and ensuring the functioning of special electronic communication systems and their components.

The department’s material and technical base includes a modern educational complex with specialised training laboratories and a computer classroom equipped with an information database, where cadets acquire fundamental knowledge in professional and specialised disciplines.
The department also hosts CISCO, Mikrotik, and Grandstream academies, which provide cadets with additional opportunities to gain hands-on experience in configuring and administering network and end-user equipment, as well as to obtain relevant international certificates.

Graduates of the department gain expertise in information and communication technologies, including:

  • Satellite, tropospheric and radio relay communications

Master’s Programme

The professional training of master’s students focuses on mastering the educational and professional programme “Special Electronic Communication Systems” and obtaining the qualification of Master of Electronics, Electronic Communications, Instrument Engineering and Radio Engineering.

To enhance their skills and acquire new competencies, students have the opportunity to participate in international internships at leading educational institutions in partner countries.

Postgraduate Studies (PhD Programme)

Field of Study – G Engineering, Manufacturing and Construction.
Specialty – G5 Electronics, Electronic Communications, Instrument Engineering and Radio Engineering.

The main research areas of the department include:

  1. Development and improvement of antenna devices for ultrashort and microwave frequency ranges.
  2. Methods for increasing the energy stealth and interference immunity of radio links and radio networks..
  3. Multiuser detection and random multiple access methods.
  4. Improvement of the scientific and methodological framework for assessing the reliability indicators of electronic communication equipment in modern networks.
  5. Methods for ensuring and enhancing the quality of service (QoS) in electronic communication networks.
